More for every moment

In FY26, we helped members save for their everyday needs, supported the path to homeownership, introduced new tools to help them manage their money, and continued to deliver the local, personalized service they count on. Here are a few of the members’ stories that shaped our story this past year.

More for the communities we serve

Our commitment to serving members extends to the communities we share. Throughout the year, SECU employees, members, and local partners came together to meet real needs across North Carolina’s 100 counties. Here are a few of those highlights:

  • From health initiatives to summer camp scholarships and school supply drives, SECU’s community engagement initiatives reached more than 32,500 children and families across the state.

  • As SECU celebrated the 3-million-member milestone, nearly 3,000 Advisory Board members helped keep our cooperative connected to members and communities across our state.

  • Employees and volunteers participated in 1,749 community involvement events while SECU continued strengthening relationships with community organizations, state agencies, public school systems, and community colleges across North Carolina.

  • Members and employees came together to help put 2,493 meals on the table for North Carolina families, saving those families nearly $10,000 in food costs.

  • Free Shred Day events helped members safely dispose of sensitive documents equating to over $500,000 in savings.

  • SECU awarded a record $233,000 in Summer Camp Awards to 466 young members, helping children and teens from 91 North Carolina counties attend day and overnight camps.

SECU Foundation impact

The SECU Foundation is a charitable organization powered by the collective generosity of SECU members. Participating members direct their $1 monthly checking account maintenance fee to the Foundation to support grants, scholarships, and other initiatives that benefit North Carolinians in the areas of education, housing, healthcare, and human services. This past year, over $24 million was invested across all 100 counties – part of a collective commitment of more than $352 million since 2004.

Cooperative strength that serves you

As members move through life, their financial needs change. SECU’s financial strength helps ensure we can be there through it all – delivering value, focusing on better ways to serve, and helping members navigate the moments that matter most. Careful stewardship keeps your Credit Union strong, so members can count on SECU today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
