NSF and Overdraft Transfer Notices

Effective January 2016, SECU will no longer mail paper Nonsufficient Funds (NSF) and Overdraft Notices. In an effort to reduce the operating expenses of your Credit Union, these notifications will be available in Member Access or through our Alerts service.

You may view your NSF or Overdraft Transfer Notice in Member Access on the Transaction Detail page. The Credit Union also offers an Alerts service which allows you to receive a variety of account notifications via text message or through the secure message center on Member Access. Several of these alerts provide some of the same information that you currently receive on the NSF and Overdraft Notices. Other helpful alerts include notification of a deposit or withdrawal to your account, or notification that your account balance has fallen below a specific threshold. Consider signing up for the Another Chance Alert for notification to make a deposit to prevent an item(s) from being returned due to insufficient funds (overdraft protection is required for this alert type).

For more information contact your local branch or call the SECU Contact Center at 888.732.8562 or locally in Raleigh at 919.857.2150.
